We made a commitment many years ago to only offer sustainable fabrics/products. We realised how important that is for the industry and the planet to take a stand. To offer anything unsustainable alongside it would be greenwashing.
When we started with water based inks in 2006 they were limited and difficult to use. They were slow and expensive. But they clearly had a lower impact on the environment and our studio so we worked hard to make them work. As the demand for them increases and more investment has gone into water based inks, they have become easier to work with and we believe there is no longer a valid excuse to not use them.
We still have more to do, and limited with our leasehold premises but since we began in 2006 we have focussed our entire business on low impact principles. We focus on our what comes into our studio - energy, products, materials - and what goes out - waste, effluent, printed products. No waste goes to landfill, our energy is renewable or carbon offset making our studio (in theory) carbon positive.
We believe that every print studio should behave like we do as a bare minimum. No conventional cotton, no plastisol printing, no virgin plastics.
As the market and demand for organic and recycled products has grown over the last few years, more and more print studios are offering 'sustainable options' often making it appear as though that is their main focus. For us, you cannot knowingly offer and promote these products and services, knowing the importance of them, and still provide the exact opposite at the same time.
So until they do we are committed to matching the price of genuine like for like quotes.
Here are the rules:
Quotes must be for the following:
We reserve the right to not price match if the invoices or quotes are incomplete or not specific enough.
IF YOUR CURRENT SUPPLIER GENUINELY ONLY OFFER ORGANIC OR RECYCLED GARMENTS WITH WATER BASED PRINTING AND NON-SYNTHETIC EMBROIDERY THREADS THEN SUPPORTING THEM IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS SUPPORTING US.
